Crimson Volleyball - Choo Choo City Tournament

Yesterday was Crimson's third volleyball tournament. Much like the previous two tournaments in Chattanooga, TN and Gul Shores, AL, the team didn't have much success. This time they went 2-6 finishing 4th out of 5 teams in their group.

Even though the team didn't have much success, Crimson continues to play quite well and enjoys it quite a bit. The young ladies have a lot of fun traveling and playing together. Next up is a 2 day tournament in Birmingham, AL followed by two in Atlanta.

Piestewa Peak Hike

This hike was a bit different. My first hike without leaving the large city. This one can be found within the city of Phoenix. Plus, it was a desert landscape. I'm used to much more isolation or at least a lot of trees. This hike had neither.

One of the busiest trails in the nation, it was even busy on this late Friday morning. My sister and nephew accompanied me on this hike which was fairly short but enough of a challenge to require a couple brief stops. The terrain was quite rocky but we returned unscathed. Took us about 90 minutes to walk up and down with an nice long break at the top to take in the view.
