Pinhoti Trail at Horn Mountain Hike

Its been far too long since I did a hike in Georgia. Many things have worked against an excursion into the wilderness lately but the stars aligned for this Saturday and I hit the road/trail on a beautiful 85 degree day.

This moderately challenging hike did a good job of keeping my heart rate up. I saw only two other hikers and they were during my first 10 minutes of this three hour hike.

The biggest drawback to this adventure was that there was so little to see. The best vistas at the top of the mountain were blocked by numerous trees. The trail itself was well maintained and easily accessible from I-75 so I may go back and check out some of the other sections of this fairly long trail.
